We are not so formal when we hold our normal meetings
Much more casual, indeed doing your own thing is the norm
We have just had our Annual General Meeting
So we are actively looking for new members young or old to join us.
We now start in earnest to prepare work for our exhibition in November
!!WHY!! not just turn up at our venue in the Trallwyn; Pontypridd
On a Tuesday Morning at 10pm until 12noon
Just say Hi, I Can ASSURE you, that you will receive a very warm welcome.
As I have mentioned earlier we have people who are prepared to sit with you on a one to one basis
Talk you through the principals of what ever medium you decide to try
We do have work shops booked, these are where the Demonstrator will show their way of thinking
Then watch and advise while we try to follow their thinking
We will have more on offer when our New Secretary has time to book more artists
For Demonstrations or Workshops ect
Our membership fees are £25.00p per year, which covers the rent, demonstrations ect.
We do have an extra charge for tea, coffee etc.
Which is .35p for which you can have as many cups as you require on that particular morning
Please do not say I can't draw, because could you read and write before you went to school
The teachers showed you how to do maths, to read and to write
We are obviously not as formal as a school, but we do offer help if you need it
If you are not sure of the medium you want to try, just come along and somebody will advise you
You need very little, in the way of materials when you first start
Without advise we normally buy the wrong things and too much of another
What we all expected is a master piece at our first attempt, it's not going to happen
I can assure you nobody will take the mick, you will be offered advice if you think you need it
When you see Artists on the television, making it look easy
Don't forget they have been training for years, to get were they are
Please also consider the different styles of Artists over the years
Who have been considered Masters of their Art
"Constable" and "Picasso" just to name two. Just consider how their styles vary
So do each and every one of us vary, what you may like, I might not think much of
But I can still admire that persons ability, in producing each particular piece of work
So please just show up and give it a try.
No payment is expected for the first few weeks
So if you do not like what you see, and what you hear, there is no harm done
You have lost nothing if you decide not to continue
If in a few weeks you do decide to stay, you may pay the £25 pounds annual fee in instalments
This works out at less than .50p a week, not much of a cost for this day and age
Our Treasurer Peter will advise you on the procedure
